TDE Labelmates Doechii And SZA Drops Official Video For ‘Persuasive’

Doechii "Pursuasive"

Top Dawg Entertainment labelmates Doechii and SZA have released an official video for “Persuasive,” a visual directed by Sara Lacombe. A showcase for Doechii’s vocal versatility, the seductive song is featured on Doechii’s recently-released EP “she / her / black bitch.” Filmed against a dark backdrop, Doechii (real name (Jaylah Hickmon) works through multiple outfit changes including a gold net skirt and bandeau, also worn by SZA (real name Solána Rowe).

“I created “Persuasive” to uplift people and bring communities together, so having SZA jump on the song was a perfect fit because I’ve always connected with others over her music,” said Doechii on the joint effort. “Knowing that SZA is with TDE was what originally got me most excited about being on this label, so now that we have a song together it’s a full-circle moment. She really ATE! This collaboration is everything I always imagined it to be.”

A fan of fashion, Doechii made a big stir at the MTV Music Video Awards where she wore a black leather Patrycja Pagas jacket and mini skirt pulled from her stylist Malu‘s wardrobe. The Tampa, Florida-born singer underscored the all black look with black grills, Chrishabana earrings and an Alexander Wang Beiress wristlet.
