Rumors around Robyn Rihanna Fenty recording new music are abounding as of late, no doubt spurred by the announcement she will perform at Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show in February 2023. Since dropping her ANTI album, Rihanna has been featured on a handful of tracks but that’s about it.
Four months out from the event, there is chatter she is recording two songs for the next installment of the Black Panther series, titled Wakanda Forever, which opens at Theaters on November 11, 2022. The news comes via Hits Daily Double, which credited “much chatter” for the news rather than even an off-the-record source. It should be noted at the time of Black Panther casting two years ago, Rihanna was alleged to have signed on as a cast member and that rumor proved to be false.
In addition to Black Panther, Atlanta-base rapper Jeezy (real name Jay Jenkins) has hinted Rihanna will be included on his upcoming “Snofall” mixtape, releasing October 21st. The info was shared in a preview of The Making of “Snofall,” a documentary showing Jeezy in the studio. During the video, the camera pans across a whiteboard showing what appears to be the tracklist for the mixtape. In addition to Rihanna, the project includes features from Ye, Post Malone, DJ Khaled, EST Gee and 42 Dugg.
Atlanta rapper shared part one of a documentary on the project called The Making of Snofall on Instagram on Monday (October 17), which captures him cooking up in the lab with J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, the production team behind “F.A.M.E.,” “Bury Me a G” and “Word Play.”
At one point in the video, a handwritten tracklist for “Snofall” appears on a whiteboard behind Jeezy, showing appearances from Ye and RiRi, as well as Ye, Post Malone, DJ Khaled, EST Gee and 42 Dugg.
Rihanna and Jeezy do have some history. Back in 2009, he was featured on Rihanna’s single “Hard” from her album Rated R.”
