Sustainability-minded designer Nicole McLaughlin has linked with Reebok on a Club C Mid collab (style code: HP9260). Featuring recycled materials , the trail-inspired shoe features a cream and grey ripstop nylon upper contrasted against a black rubber outsole and is detailed with 3M piping. Reflecting McLaughlin’s love of an unexpected detail, the shoe features a mesh pocket for holding a key or trail mix.
The effort is a meaningful one for McLaughlin, who began her career at Reebok in 2016. Commenting on the collab, she said, “I dug into my knowledge of the Reebok archive and drew inspiration for these shoes from the 1996 Reebok Etna Mid. The idea was to take design cues from a forgotten model, apply them to a new silhouette, and upgrade it with modern materials and details such as ripstop nylon and reflective binding. I love the outdoors, hiking, and the trail, so I wanted to bring that into this project.”
Proceeds from the sale will be donated to Sky High Farms, a non-profit organization committed to addressing food security and nutrition by improving access to fresh, nutritious food for New Yorkers
Priced at $160 and available in women’s sizing, the shoe will be released on StockX’s DropX, on December 5, 2022, the shoe will be launched globally on reebok.com on December 9th.
