Tennis player Naomi Osaka today announced she is pregnant. She revealed the news with an image of a sonogram and a note in which she wrote in part, “I realize that life is so short and I don’t take any moments for granted, everyday is a new blessing and adventure. I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future, one thing I’m looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, ‘that’s my mom,’ haha.”
Osaka has been dating North Carolina-born rapper Cordae [Amari Dunston] since 2019 and while not mentioned in the post, he has been confirmed by media as the father.
In the update, the 25-year-old Osaka also announced she won’t play professionally again until 2024. She recently withdrew from the upcoming Australian Open, for which she is a two-time champion. She hasn’t played a full match since her first-round loss at the U.S. Open in August, and played in just 11 tournaments in 2022.
