Chicago-based creative Joe Freshgoods Robinson has teamed up with Vault by Vans for a second collection of shoes and apparel. Titled “Chocolate Valley Resort,” the collection is themed on the experience of the traveler through a Black lens.

In a press release, he explained, “Chocolate Valley Resort is inspired by my love for travel and research. For this collection I wanted to create something that aligns with the rich history of Vault by Vans, but from a new perspective. Chocolate Valley Resort marries the history of Black travel and leisure with winter-ready pieces that blend playfulness and functionality.”

Providing some background on the capsule’s color pallette, Joe added, “It’s always a goal of mine to use shades of pink in all of my collection. It’s the first color that inspired my design language many years ago. Since the collection is based around cold weather, I wanted to create a full range of items that would work especially for those Midwest winters. And to really lean into winter travel we infused a “quilted” design pattern across many of the pieces.”

Priced from $50 for a t-shirt up to $265 for a puffer jacket, Vans and Joe Freshgoods collection launches on January 21, 2022 at Joe Freshgood’s Chicago store Every Now & Then and joefreshgoods.com, followed by select locations of Vault by Vans retailers globally and vans.com.
