Grammy-Award winning SZA took to Instagram where she previewed behind-the-scenes visuals for “Snooze,” a single featured on her chart-topping, sophomore album SOS. However, in the post she notes while the video is for “Snooze,” the audio is another previously unreleased song.
In the video, a bikini clad SZA (real name Solána Rowe) approaches a android sitting in a chair and proceeds to provide him with a lap dance. In a second visual, she’s filmed in a body of water embracing a (real) man who has his back to the camera.
In the lyrics for the sparely-arranged new song, she croons, “I need you poolside, you’ve been on mind; Wonder if you’re all mine, why do it matter anyway? (Fuck it); I like your soft side, I like you on top; You make my thoughts stop; You make bein’ me less hard.”
Released in December 2022, SOS has spent 10 non-consecutive weeks as the No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 charts. She began touring in support of the album in February 2022, and according to Billboard Boxscore the first leg of SZA’s tour has thus far grossed $34.5 million in revenue. Response to the album has been so robust that her label, Sony Music Entertainment, recently highlighted it as one of the titles contributing to a 16% increase in revenue during the quarter.
