Dutch designer Daniëlle Cathari has been announced as Kith Women‘s creative director wih her first designs launching sometime in 2024. Her arrival at the brand coincides with the news Kith Women is opening a stand-alone store located at 644 Broadway (in Kith‘s first orginal store, opened in 2011). The store will include a flower and coffee shop and will open on December 15, 2023.
Cathari was in her third year of stuides a the Amsterdam Fashion Institute, when she won the VFiles Fashion show in 2017, the first student of her school to do so. Her colorful collection of upcycled vintage Adidas tracksuits caught the eye of the brand who reached out to her a year later to create a capsule inspired by her runway.
The same collection also landed Cathari on Kith founder Ronnie Fieg‘s radar. Fieg made the connection to Cathari through Aimé Leon Dore founder and creative director Teddy Santis, who was friendly with her and knew Fieg was looking for someone to lead creatives for Kith Women.
Commenting on the hire in a press release, Fieg said, “I’ve always wanted to offer women the same experience that we we offer men, that they can shop the brand and footwear on the same level; but I’ve had the struggle of not knowing how to communicate it the same way and emotionally connect to it in the same way and wanted to make sure the person that we brought on board could wear and live through the product they create. That they eat, breathe, and live the brand inside and out.”

Kith Women’s new store located at 644 Broadway at the corner of Broadway and Bleeker in SoHo, will carry Kith Women alongside additional brands of apparel, accessories and footwear. The new location boasts Venetian plaster walls and suede wallpaper with a Kith monogram pattern and oak-patterned flooring with walnut trim.
The store also features three custom display cases featuring Rosa Aurora stone (a pink marble quarried in Portugal) and walnut wood shelves by Brooklyn-based Mark Jupiter. Always a Kith store focal point, the footwear department features a grand arched ceiling, a custom chandelier by Italy-based Viabizzuno and travertine shelves. Fitting rooms are also framed by walnut and include walnut benches, also by Mark Jupiter.
Kith Women’s cafe and flower shop is produced in partnership with PlantShed, a New York-based plant and flower retailer. Dubbed PlantShed Café, the space will offer beverages, food and floral arrangements. The cafe also opens to an outdoor courtyard. The café will open daily two hours earlier than the retail space.
