Queens-native and illustrator Sophia Chang has once again joined forces with Puma, unveiling a new basketball-themed shoe and apparel capsule. Dubbed “From Canvas To Court,” the collection draws inspiration from the world of women’s basketball as expressed through Chang’s illustrations.
Celebrating inclusivity and women’s allyship, Chang stars in the campaign alongside two fellow members of her local creative scene: Bethany Brill, the designer and founder of Teddy Studios, and Bukunmi, a creative director and photographer. Styled in the new collection, they embody the essence of Chang’s vision: a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the vibrant spirit of Queens.
Offerings are highlighted by a reversible letterman bomber featuring a lining detailed with Chang’s signature artwork. The capsule additionally includes standout pieces like a basketball jersey and knitted bucket hat, adorned with playful graphics, alongside wide leg pants and a crossbody bag adorned with Chang’s illustrations.
The footwear lineup features the classic Puma Suede in zen blue and the sleek Palermo in grape mist. Each sneaker incorporates illustrations inset into the Puma formstrip logo, adding a unique touch.
Puma and Sophia Chang’s “From Canvas to Court” capsule is available starting March 26, 2024, on puma.com, Puma flagship stores and select Puma retailers.
