Paris-based Jean Paul Gaultier has debuted a new collection with creative direction by Florence Tétier who assumed leadership of label when Gaultier retired in 2021. Tapping into the label’s archive, Tétier has breathed new life into some of the label’s most iconic items. The collection boasts trompe l’oeil tailoring, tit-bearing suspenders on statement trench coats, corseted denim and dramatic satin gowns.
The campaign for the collection was photographed by Torso Solutions, a studio know for its work with Mugler. The effort features rising stars including model Amelia Gray and Dominican rapper Tokischa, who bring to life the collection’s modern reinterpretation of Gaultier’s signature style.
In press about the collection Tétier said, “This collection does not reproduce the iconic Gaultier pieces, but rather offers modern interpretations of the Maison’s archetypes . With ‘Tres Gaultier’ I wanted to question our basics and adapt them to the social and aesthetic mutations that have taken place since their creation.”
