Grammy-Award winning rapper Cardi B took to Instagram today to announce she is pregnant with her third child. The news didn’t come as a surprise to fans, who have been speculating about the reason for her looser fitting outfits for weeks. The Bronx-born 32-year-old music creative is already is already a parent to daughter Kulture Cephus, six, and son Wave, two, with her husband Offset (real name Kiari Cephus), who also has three children from a previous relationship.
Ever the style maven, Cardi (real name Belcalis Almánzar ) announced the big news in a plunging satin red gown designed by Prabal Gurung and styled by Kollin Carter.
The news of the baby was preceded by news she has filed from Offset, who she’s been married to since 2017. This is Cardi’s second time filing for divorce. The first time she filed was in 2020, but the couple reconciled. Rocked multiple times by rumors of Offset cheating, the couple have also gone through multiple separations but ultimately always reconciled.
Cardi is said to be seeking primary custody of their three children. According to a TMZ source, the divorce as spurred by Offset cheating but was described as “a long time coming.” The source added, “The two have been growing apart for a long time, they’re just disconnected from each other.”
Cardi is slated to release her second studio album this year and fans are concerned the pregnancy will cause it to be delayed. As recently as July 25th, she reference her upcoming album on X, where fans believe she was addressing Ice Spice who is thought to have dissed Cardi on her “Y2K” single.
“These bitches have absolutely lost their mind… I’m getting all my lick backs on my album tho …ON EACH ONE OF YOU BITCHES !!!” she wrote.
