Nike-owned Converse taps French designer Isabel Marant’s to help debut the Chuck 70 Wedge, a sneaker featuring a 2.5-inch wedge. The pairing is of course a node to Isabel Maran’ts famed hidden wedge Bekett sneaker, a shoe that launched in 2009 and took over the footwear landscape.
The label will also provide its take on the iconic Chuck 70 hi top, and Chuck 70 Ox low top. Known for her Paris-informed bohemian aesthetic, Marant’s take on the Chuck 70 Wedge in offered in either black or white and features a frayed upper, a raw-edge canvas overlay bearing the Isabel Marant logo, a translucent outsole and multicolor tie dye laces.
Alongside the collaboration, Converse is intorducing its own Chuck Taylor All Star Wedge also featuring a 2.5-inch hidden heel. The new shoe will debut on October 3, 2024 at converse.com and select global retailers. A Chuck 70 Wedge is also slated for release in the coming months.
Priced at $190 for the hi top and $140 for the low top, Converse and Isabel Marants sneaker wedge will launch on September 11, 2024 at the Isabel Marant Turenne Paris pop-up, as well as isabelmarant.com and Isabel Marant stores. The shoes will see a wider launch on September 12th on converse.com and at select global retailers.
