London-based Palace Skateboards and Vivienne Westwood have announced a collaboration paying tribute to their shared independent spirit and irreverent approach. The capsule blends Palace’s streetwear-infused looks with Westwood’s iconic tartans, prints and bold motifs incluing the British label’s 1992 Salon print on Gore-Tex along with Palace’s Lev Tanju‘s dog Stuart who is featured on a Westwood corset.
In press about the collaboration, Westwood creative director Andreas Kronthaler said, “From the first day I went to Palace years ago, I liked what they are doing. Their designs are made with quality, they are accessible and democratic. It felt natural for us to join forces, it was a very playful exercise, and it was a pleasure working with the team and making new friends.”
Each purchase will be accompanied by a special edition of Shoichi Aoki‘s Fruits magazine, featuring images from the campaign. Shot on the streets of London, the cast includes DJ Josh Café, model Issa Lish, activist Sibyl Buck and American musicians Semetary and Matt OX.
Palace and Vivienne Westwood launches globally September 6, 2024 Palace and Vivienne Westwood’s online and physical stores, as well as Dover Street Market locations in London, Los Angeles and Tokyo.
