Nike and NorBlack NorWhite, the brand founded by Mriga Kapadiya and Amrit Kumar in 2015, have unveiled their latest women-focused collaboration. An apparel and footwear collection that bridges Indian craft with contemporary sportwear. At the heart of the collection is bandhani, a centuries-old Indian tie-dye technique known for its intricate, dotted patterns that have long been part of both modern and traditional Indian style.
Together, Nike and NorBlack NorWhite reinterpreted bandhani with sport-forward silhouettes. In press about the collaboration co-founder Amrit Kumar explained the vision behind the collaboration saying, “When women wear pieces from our new collection with Nike, we want them to feel comfortable in their own skin, wherever they are in their journey. We want them to feel cool and collected through the colors, and to be ready to take on challenges and build strength and resilience through the patterns. Women who wear these pieces should have fun and own the spectrum of hues, all knowing that we, as women, aren’t here to play.”
The campaign photographed by Bharat Sika highlights wrestler Anshu Malik, sprinter Priya Mohan and cricketers Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali Verma.
The assortment includes a hoodie, tank, cropped T-shirt, and two bra styles that carry the bandhani motif, paired with a 5-inch short and 7/8-length tight as well as a cross-body bag and four footwear silhouettes: the Nike Air Max Craze, Motiva, Pegasus 41, and Calm slide.
The Norblack Norwhite x Nike collaboration launches globally on Nike.com and select Nike stores.
