Los Angeles-based Grayscale as lead by designer Khala Jones had art in mind when she chose Ibid Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles to present her spring 2019 collection on March 17, 2019. Titled “EXHIBIT: Gray,” the sophomore presentation reflected Jones’ challenge to herself take a more elevated approach and “think outside the box.”
Known for her Under Bust mini skirt, Jones’ bold, structural design is the core of her design aesthetic. Inspired by the concept of women as a work of art, Jones said the spring 2019 collection is meant to honor the shape of women’s bodies. She explained, “I love making bold pieces that accentuate the curves. It’s important that everyone feels great in their Grayscale, because when you look good you feel good. Accentuating the natural curves on bodies is what I love to do. It’s about embracing our bodies and loving them as they are!”
