Baby North West has become known for her fashion flair, wearing sporty outfits and brands that often reflect her father, Kanye West’s, tastes. As such, it’s pretty significant that she was photographed in Los Angeles accompanied by her mother and father, wearing yes, a cute pair of Dr. Marten boots, but more significantly a mini-YSL bag.
It’s significant because West famously dressed down Saint Laurent designer Hedi Slimane several times during the portion of his Yeezus concert set aside to speak on topical events. A search shows that the last record of West criticizing Slimane was at Madison Square Garden in November 2013, when he complained that the designer, while a visionary and “a god,” had attempted to dictate what fashion week shows West could attend should he receive an invite to a Saint Laurent show.
Could it be that there has been a thawing between Slimane and West? And might the official peace pipe come in the form of a mini-designer bag, likely custom, made for the baby West? From the perspective of a fashion lover, one can dream!
