Beyoncé has queued up the track list for The Lion King: The Gift, an album she produced and curated. The project includes tracks by Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, 070 Shake, Tierra Whack, Pharrell, Childish Gambino and Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy. African artists include Tekno, Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, Busiswa, Mr. Eazi, Tekno, Moonchild Sanelly, Burna Boy and Wizkid.
“Spirit,” the album’s debut single, was released earlier this week and will be followed by the release of a visual today (July 16, 2019) at 8:00 PM EST.
Describing the album, Beyoncé said, This soundtrack is a love letter to Africa and I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa, and not just use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it.”
The Lion King: The Gift will launch on all platforms on July 19, 2019.
