World soccer champion and U.S. team captain Megan Rapinoe checked in with Complex’s Joe la Puma this week to do some sneaker shopping at Stadium Goods in New York.
Flexing an unreleased pair of Nike and Sacai LD Waffle sneakers (winning championships and being a Nike-sponsored athlete comes with privileges!), Rapinoe discussed her love of Michael Jordan as a child and the thrill of getting her first pair of Jordan sneakers, a pair of Retro 11 kicks.
Which silhouettes did Rapinoe end up taking home? Jordan x Travis Scott, Converse Run Star x J.W. Anderson and Nike Daybreak x Undercover. Ever mindful of the people she loves, she also picked up pair of Jordan 1 “Not for Resale” sneakers for her girlfriend, WNBA player Sue Bird.
