Harlem-born rapper Dave East (real name David Lawrence Brewster Jr.) recently took on the hard questions on Elle’s “Thirst Trap” series where the 31-year-old was given the choice of answering each of ten questions truthfully or drinking one of ten different drinks.
East was asked what tattoo he regrets (the “Dave East” one on his hand) and his worst verse (he doesn’t have one!). When asked to name an overrated rap artist, East chose to take a shot rather than start beef. He also cited losing Nipsey Hussle as his biggest “L” for 2019 and went on to dismiss rumors he was dating Lizzo.
When asked about his childhood crush, East said he had many but name checked Halle Berry. He explained, “My crush as a kid was Halle Berry. Like since Strictly Business when you had the low cut. Young Halle, old Halle fire, too, but if I ever see you, I’m a tell you what I’ll tell you. I ain’t saying it right here. I’m old school, if I see someone and I’m interested, I’ll go and talk to them.
East is fresh off of launching Survival, his debut album, now available on all streaming platforms.
