It was all good on Valentine’s Day! Just three days later, Kehlani [Parrish] was inspired to jump into the studio where she composed “Valentine’s Day (Shameful),” a single detailing major issues with her on-again-off-again beau, YG (real name Keenon Jackson).
While the song doesn’t call out YG by name, the lyrics detail her discovery of some unsavory texts in his phone with lyrics that read: “Wish I didn’t check your text when you was drunk asleep; I’ve seen everything I didn’t want to see; That I needed to see; That I needed it to be; Hope you live happily ever after with the bitch.”
After uploading the song to Soundcloud, Kehlani tweeted (and quickly deleted) that she is now single. On Instagram, she added, “Valentine’s Day (Shameful) out now on soundcloud. not mixed or mastered. thanks for letting me come get it out my system when i need it.”

In response to a fan who expressed surprise over the song because she views Kehlani and YG as soul mates, Kehlani responded, “that’s correct.”
The song follows on the heels of “Konclusions,” a romantic single dropped on Valentine’s Day that features the couple expressing their love for each other.
The couple went public during New York Fashion Week in September of last year. They broke up a month later when YG was caught kissing another woman outside a club in Los Angeles. In response, Kehlani dropped “You Know Wassup,” a single in which she admits she still loves YG despite his issues.
