Japanese artist Takashi Murakami and Billie Eilish are collaborating once again, this time on a capsule for Uniqlo. Thus far, the Japanese retailer hasn’t revealed anything other than an all white anime-inspired statue who is wearing a pair of white high-top sneakers and a t-shirt featuring graphics of Murakami’s signature Kaikai Kiki flower.
The statue takes inspiration from the animated character used to portray Eilish in her “you should see me in a crown,” a video art directed by Murakami. In addition to the video, the creative duo also collaborated on a capsule of merch including a vinyl doll celebrating the visual.
Looking at the statue, it’s interesting that the video first pans on the figure’s hightop sneakers as Eilish hinted in a “Sneaker Shopping” interview in March of last year that she and Murakami were working on a Jordan sneaker collaboration, which as of yet hasn’t come to fruition.
