New York-based Supreme has let it be known it will open its 13th physical location in Milan on May 6, 2021. Supreme made the Corso Garibaldi location official with a newspaper ad and two digital billboards.
Keeping with tradition, the opening will be celebrated with a Supreme box logo t-shirt. Reflecting the location, this one will feature a graphic pulled from a painting of The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci. Supreme has previously used the same graphic on a skate deck set and sticker.
Rumors around Supreme opening a store in Milan first surfaced in 2019. At the time, the brand was the midst of a legal battle with International Brand Firm, which has opened what is referred to as legal fake Supreme stores in Italy and Spain. The company has also battled with legal fake stores in China, but was able to secure a trademark in China in May 2020.
Supreme last opened a store in San Francisco in October 2019. The Milan store will be the first opened since the brand was purchased by VF Corp. in November 2020.
Supreme’s Milan box logo t-shirt will be sold at the Corso Garibaldi store on May 6th and will possibly be available globally online on May 10th.
