Music and fashion creative Kanye West was spotted out and about in Los Angeles on Thursday (June 3, 2021) where he was photographed in a pair of Nike Vandal Terminator sneakers. He also sported a balaclava covering his entire head. The tan and baby blue covering including multiple holes to allow for him to see and breathe and was covered in Christian iconography.
Much was made of West wearing Nike while in a partnership with Adidas, though the bigger news story might be his blue puffer jacket, which could be a preview from his upcoming Gap and YEEZY YZY collaboration.
Gaps has stated on prior earnings calls that the collaboration would launch sometime mid-year in 2021 and in its most recent call it described its partnership with West as “a work in progress’ and “a significant opportunity,” adding that it’s expected to launch in the company’s second (April-June) or third quarter (July-September).
On a recent Business of Fashion Instagram post (below) describing the launch date as “uncertain,” West’s barber, Ibn Jasper, wrote in the comments, “I saw the collection last week… it’s not ‘uncertain.'” Designer Marc Jacobs then added, “It will be worth the wait.”
