South Carolina-born and Central Saint Martins educated designer Louisa Ballou recently revealed her pre-fall collection, sexy mesh silhouettes featuring the lush fabrics she’s become known for. The collection was modeled by the Dominican Republic-born Omahyra Mota-Garcia. Underscoring the collections connection to the Caribbean island, the campaign was shot by photographer Renell Medrano whose parents were born on the island.
Commenting on the women who inspire her designs, Ballou told British Vogue, “The most important through line for the brand isn’t a piece of hardware or a print, but rather a mood, a feeling, an attitude, and a lifestyle. This woman has different moods, different occasions, but her attitude and point of view endures.”
