After an 18 month break from releasing music, Lizzo (real name Melissa Jefferson) has splashed back on the scene with new single and visual “Rumors” featuring Cardi B (real name Belcalis Almánzar). Making use of the bass synth and horn groove she’s become known for, the song’s lyrics take on the chatter celebrities are inevitably subject to In the Tanu Muino-directed video, costumes and backdrops are inspired by ancient Greece with the two music creatives taking on the role of goddesses
For the visual, Lizzo and Cardi were supported by separate glam teams with Lizzo’s makeup handled by Alex Mayo, while styling was directed by Brett Alan Nelson. In the visual, Lizzo sports a 43.5-foot braid, a project in and of itself, directed by Shelby Swain.
Meanwhile, Cardi’s glam was handled by her go-to Erika Roman and her hair was done by Tokyo “Stylez” Jackson. Her looks were directed by her long-time stylist Kollin Carter.
