Chicago celebrated WNBA Chicago Sky player Candace Parker by announcing September 16th, as “Candace Parker Day.” Parker was commemorated for her exemplary contributions both on and off the court with a ceremony attended by Chicago’s Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Thursday (September 16, 2021).
Adidas, which sponsors Parker, celebrated the even with the launch of a capsule featuring a hoodie, t-shirt, basketball shorts, socks and an Exhibit (A)ce Low sneaker offered in one of three colors.
Commenting on the collection in press, Parker stated, “I’m beyond excited to launch the Candace Parker collection with my long-time partner, adidas. This collection represents so many important moments in my career and our hope is that it will reach and inspire the next generation of passionate athletes. It is amazing to see the progress female athletes have made over the last 20 years and this moment is an important step in the expansion of women’s basketball.”
The collection is exclusively available at Dick’s, which recently was announced as the official sporting goods retail partner of the WNBA.
