Cactus Plant Flea Market as lead by Cynthia Lu has announced a restock of “ye must me Born again” hoodies. Not known for restocks, the label’s website explained the popular hoodie was brought back in an effort to combat fakes: “In an effort to combat widespread counterfeit product on resale platforms, resale stores and community marketplaces, the born again hooded sweatshirt is now available for pre-order for a short time.”
First released in 2019, the hoodie’s use of the word “ye” is allegedly not a reference to Ye (formerly known as Kanye West), but an archaic version of the singular form of “you.” Translated into modern-day English, the top would read “You must be born again.” That said, in the same year, Lau and Ye collaborated on Jesus Is King merch so it wouldn’t be too surprising if Lau intentionally built in a double entrendre for the “ye must be Born again” hoodie.
Priced at $250 in sizes S-XL, the hoodie is available in nine colors (black, brown, purple, navy, blue green, yellow, orange and red) on cactusplantfleamarket.com. The hoodie went live on January 1, 2022 and there is no detail on how long it will be available to order.
