Houston native Megan thee Stallion leaned into her love of fashion with a visual for her single “Plan B” made in partnership with Mugler. Exclusively clad in Mugler looks, Megan was directed by the label’s creative director Casey Cadwallader, alongside his husband, artist John Miserendino.
Reflecting her ongoing role with the label, Megan wore Mugler in May for the Billboard Music Awards red carpet and for her on-stage performance.
Sharing his views on his debut effort as a music video director, Cadwallader told WWD, “How on earth am I going to direct a music video? And my husband, who also has worked a lot in film was like, ‘Casey, you have to do this.’ And I said, ‘Hey, do you want to do it with me?’ So we ended up kind of wrapping it together so that we could support each other through our first incarnation as being music video directors.”
Mugler was founded by the French-born Manfred Thierry Mugler in 1973. After a career full of accolades, Mugler semi-retired in 2002 but would continue to work within the industry and more recently was known for dressing a select group of celebrities for red carpet event. He died at age 73 in January 2022.
The Mugler name has been owned by L’Oréal since 2019, The company brought on Cadwallader to creative direct the label in 2018.
