The adorable Aliyah’s Interlude is catching some heat on Twitter for suggesting Spanish label
Dominnico should have cast her for it latest runway. Aliyah was reacting to fans who caught wind of the runway images and viewed the collection as inspired by Aliyah’s animated look. Seemingly agreeing with their assessment, she responded to fans tagging her under a series of posts showing the label’s fall ’23 runway with a tweet reading, “They could’ve just asked me to model like…”

Based in Barcelona, Domennico was founded in 2016 and is known for its futuristic clubwear. Reflecting an aesthetic Aliyah is also inspired by, the label in 2019 presented a collection titled “Harajuku Kids,” which subsequently won the Mercedes Benz Fashion Talent award.
With some pointing out Domennico’s anime aesthetic is not new, she pushed back on Twitter, pointing out it would have been a win-win for all had the label cast her. Some of her critics also noted Aliyah would be better served by reaching out directly to labels she’s interested in working with.
At the same time, the industry has already taken notice of Aliyah with the Atlanta-born influencer landing a MAC Cosmetics ad and a spot on Mowalola‘s London runway. Known for her “Aliyahcore today
tomorrow and yesterday” tagline, Aliyah recently styled music creative Lizzo in an “Aliyahcore” look using pieces from her Yitty label.
