Another day, another killer Rihanna street style look though her latest look pops out a bit more because it appears to include a preview of a Fenty by Puma sneaker in the form of a King Avanti silhouette. Featuring a black quilted upper and a white formstrip, the shoe’s distinct extra long, fold-over tongue is stamped in gold with the Fenty logo alongside the Puma cat motif.
Earlier this year, Puma delighted the Navy when it announced plans to renew its partnership with with Rihanna on a collection of unisex and children’s shoes and apparel expected to drop during holiday 2023.
Rooted in the beautiful game, Puma’s King Avanti shoe is inspired by the brand’s King soccer shoe, worn by champions including Eusébio da Silva Ferreira, Pelé, Diego Maradona and Johan Cruyff.
Back in 1997, Puma had all eyes on the King Avanti thanks to a Jil Sander collaboration. If Puma and Fenty’s King Avanti are released, they’re sure to generate substantial buzz for the brand and perhaps put some pressure on Adidas‘ Samba soccer silhouette, which is currently in high demand.
