October’s Very Own aka OVO, founded by Drake, Noah Shebib, and Olivier El-Khatib in 2008, has unveiled campaign images for its spring 2024 women’s collection. This sleek assortment represents a significant evolution in the lines women’s silhouettes, guided by the creative direction and design expertise of New York-based Melissa Battifarano. In an exclusive interview, we discussed with Battifarano the creative vision driving OVO spring 2024 women’s collection.
Battifaro’s resume in the space is extensive and includes a leading design role at Fenty by Puma during the brands’ first partnership. A big fan of what Battifarano brings to the table, Rihanna tapped her to help launch Savage X Fenty. Battiformo’s background also includes stints at Tory Burch, Diesel Sport and Wolford.
OVO’s spring 2024 collection launches on March 15, 2024 on octobersveryown.com.

Snobette: Can you share with us your approach on designing the silhouettes and selecting colors for OVO’s Women’s Spring 2024 line?
Melissa Battifarano:”I approached the design process with a distinct focus on creating a collection that resonates with the individuality of the OVO female customer. I wanted her to be seen as her own person, breaking away from the previous portrayal as merely an extension of the men’s customer. For instance, I aimed to move beyond the image of her wearing her boyfriend’s fleece crew neck and sweatpants, giving her a unique and empowered identity within the OVO brand.”
Snobette: What message were you aiming to convey to women through these pieces?
Melissa Battifarano:“The focus was on returning to the essentials by understanding who she is, her lifestyle, income, and most importantly, her needs. This inaugural collection leans towards sport-inspired pieces designed for everyday wear. These items are thoughtfully crafted to seamlessly complement her existing wardrobe, featuring catsuits, leggings, and hot shorts paired with boxy, cropped, and comfortably brushed quarter zips and hoodies adorned with the owl logo in tonal hues and unexpected placements.
“While introducing classic hoodies showcasing the brand’s iconic chenille owl logo patch, we’ve taken a fresh approach by executing them in a tonal palette of pretty pastels and neutrals tailored specifically for women. I’m excited for you guys to see what we have coming up!”
