We met Loza Maléombho when she first launched her signature line in 2012. Right away we noticed the unique creative spirit behind her label. Heaquartered in the Ivory Coast, Loza Maléombho’s apparel and accessories present a fresh perspective in silhouette and material. With many best sellers under her belt, Loza took on self expression to new levels with what she titled “Alien Edits,” a series of self portraits aiming to use the “selfie to elevate consciousness. According to Maléombho:
“The concept of “Alien Edits” came to me rather intuitively and I am still expressing and experimenting as I am writing this, but if I had to pin it I’d say that it came from frustrations about the U.S. judiciary system with its on going discrimination against African Americans and frustrations about social issues that are class, race, culture, sexuality and religious stereotypes, all of which cause a state of alienation on its victims.”
