Marawa the Amazing popped on our radar recently and entranced our Instagram followers with a clip we posted from her roller skating in a pair of custom high heel skates (see below). London-based, she’s worked with Opening Ceremony and Kenzo, but is best known in the circus and carnival performance world for her hula-hoop mastery, and recently broke her own Guiness record rocking 180 at the same time! Marawa shares her love of hula-hooping by holding weekly classes to teach others how to up their hip swivel game and also build “diamond hard abs.”
In the video featured below, she shows out in a pair of Terry de Havilland-designed high-heel skates and a leopard print catsuit. smoothly gliding in a pair of sky high baby blue sparkle heels like it is not a thing, at the same time keeping alive the super funkified disco vibe of the activity that is part of its heritage.
