The election night of November 4th, 2008 was simply an electric and unforgettable one. Barack Obama, the 44th of the United States, for two terms not only made history as the first black president of the United States but also managed to catalyze youthful Americans previously defined as passive about the political process.
The importance of Barack Obama’s presidency is reflected in the large number of well-regarded artists who have created work inspired by his presidency from Shepard Fairey’s “Hope” poster (which originally sold for $45 dollars on his website) to work by Chuck Close and Ron English to name a few.
In our own Snobette Ten round up, we’ve created an assortment of art, apparel and accessories as mementos of Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, two individuals whose influence, grace, passion and style will be remembered forever.
Whether you chose to light a candle, rock a piece of clothing or hang art on your walls, have a look at some items that will enable you to remember this great man and the first family.
