The Brooklyn emcee Young M.A. has released her highly-anticipated “HerStory” EP, a seven-song project (including “OOOUUU”), a project that serves to further burnish her reputation as a smooth flowmaster.
The song’s strongest track is “JOOTD,” an acronym that references the song it samples, Monica Brown’s beloved girl anthem “Don’t Take It Personal (Just One of those Days).” M.A.’s flow is as always immaculate, but the also reveals a deeper thought process that shows she can do more than brag and boast.
As to whether fans can expect an album anytime soon, Young M.A said in February there is nothing yet on the calendar. “I know people are looking forward to an album from me, but I don’t think it needs to be rushed either,” said the MC in an interview with The Fader.
