Janine The Machine has released a video for her debut single “High Places,” a spirited anthem about embracing one’s boss status featuring singer and songwriter Raja Kumari. Written by Janine and K- Major, the singled was produced by Pierre Medor and C. “Tricky” Stewart, whose resume includes work with Beyoncé, Rihanna and Madonna.
Filmed in cities that speak to their roots, Detroit for Janine and Mumbai for Kumari, the Shawn Thomas-directed video highlights the style and swag of two women whose careers are on the rise.
In a phone conversation with Snobette, Kumari commented,” When we started talking about the project, I knew it would be awesome. Janine is such a dope writer. We just love to make good music, and the combination of both of our styles flowed really well, it’s exciting.”
The single will be included on Janine’s upcoming “High Places” EP, due out sometime this summer.
