Jersey girl 070 Shake has dropped a new single, titled “Be Myself,” a title that speaks to the singer’s wish to be accepted for who she is, nothing more, nothing less. While a relatively simple desire, it’s a considerably more complicated goal when one spends a lot of time in the public eye, as is the case with Shake.
“Please just mind your business and don’t worry about my health,” 070 warns in her melancholy, low-range vocals in a track that mashes up r&b, trap and hip hop flows.
Not one to take herself too seriously, the single art shows Shake, who’s known for taking a unisex approach to fashion, reimagined as a boobilicious cartoon beach bunny.
Shake will appear at Webster Hall in New York on August 3, 2017. In a post on Instagram, Shake said she would perform music from her upcoming G.O.O.D. Music and Def Jam album, Yellow Girl, which as of yet doesn’t have a release date.
Wrote Shake on the post, “My friends would come here to watch Travis, 2 years later 070 is on that. To have 100 people there or a thousand or just 1 fan thank you for believe in me and my team…songs off YELLOW GIRLs Noise will be previewed be there to witness and continue supporting to those of you who been riding and to those who will start to .. witness the start of something be there with us ALL Love Alwayz.”
