First shown on Balenciaga‘s fall 2017 runway, the French label’s chunky Triple S sneaker is nothing if not controversial. That said, while many have derided its bulky silhouette, comparing it to the over-sized shoes animated character Sonic the Hedgehog wore, the shoe currently is sold out at retail and no doubt it will be seen on the feet of a lot of very fashionable people during September’s fashion weeks.
Popular sneaker preview account @sneakerprophet has posted several images of version of the Triple S shoe that dropped in July (and is now sold out) and while its shown paired with a pair of skinny jeans, stylists seem to prefer styling it with more voluminous bottoms.
The shoe’s bulky antique cream-colored midsole and outsole is offset by a mesh off white upper, with some added energy coming from a pair of striped white laces.
Thus far, all Triple S models include Balenciaga branding on the lateral side of both shoes with the number 37 on the center of each toe box.
