Chromat kicked off its spring 2018 New York Fashion Week runway with a warm up performance by music artist and producer Suzi Analogue followed by a video montage of Chromat models. The runway was opened by Filipino-American trans moel Leyna Bloom, who was followed by a steady stream of gorgeous Chromat babes including the runway debut of Emme, the first plus-size super model, as well as Jordyn Woods, good friend to Kylie Jenner but an Instagram star in her own right as well.
The collection was made up of an array of sporty meets modern  swimsuits and dresses themed on shades of blue, orange and charcoal and included the debut of denim. While the looks were ostensibly themed on swimwear, in truth, many of the items could do double time as tops whether worn on their own or under something sheer. Creepyyeha provided accessories and Melissa took care of the footwear.
The concept of inclusivity isn’t a passing wave for Chromat designer Becca McCharen-Tran, rather its a mindset, one that can be felt in Chromat’s designs that shout out her fun and energetic personality. The show itself exudes so much warmth and cool energy, one hopes that McCharen-Tran not only expands categories, but eventually takes over the world.
