Migos has released the music video for “MotorSort,” a single that had social media buzzing when it dropped in October 2017 because it featured Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, who at the time were rumored to be beefing.
While both Minaj and Cardi repeatedly have denied the rumors, the rappers’ fan bases as well as prominent (male) commentators sadly continue to push a narrative of discord between the two.
Using a sci-fi Migos of the future theme where expensive sports cars fly, a massive part of the appeal of videos is Minaj and Cardi’s styling.
Minaj’s extra-long pink braids in particular are practically a co-star, a dramatic look that was handled by Kim Kimble. Her look was styled by Brett Alan Nelson and via @onikaswardrobe we know she wore a metal corset by Manuel Albarran. Underneath the corset she wears a bodysuit by Vex Clothing and is sporting Yeezy clear, over-the-knee plastic boots. Accessories are by Lynn Ban. In a second look, Minaj wore a custom bodysuit designer by Brett Alan Nelson and Asher Levine.
Cardi B spits her fiery lines against a cherry red Ferrari occupied by her man, Offset, who she references in her rhymes. Cardi’s hair was laid by Hair by Fran and she tapped her go-to guy, Kollin Carter, to handle styling. Her custom black, green and white leather look is by Bryan Hearns, which was paired with Fenty by Puma boots.
While the entire video was published on Apple Music earlier today, it has since been removed though there are clips of Nicki and Cardi’s bars circulating plus behind-the-scenes footage released by Migos.
Check out a fan-posted the official video (which probably will soon be taken down) below along with some clips.
