Bronx rapper Cardi B announced this evening (July 26, 2018) she’s cancelling plans to open the fall leg of Bruno Mars’s “24K Magic” tour.
In a statement on social media, Cardi wrote, “I though that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover physically and mentally. I also thought I’d be able to bring her with me on tour, but I think I underestimated the whole mommy thing.”
Cardi and Offset’s baby, Kulture, was born on July 10, 2018. She has yet to post any pictures of the baby, but has been telling followers that mothering is tiring but also a lot of fun.
Cardi was slated to open the tour on September 7th in Denver and close out on October 27th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles for a total of 22 performances.
Shortly after Cardi made her announcement, Mars followed up with an Instagram statement where he wrote in support of her decision. “Most important thing is you and your family’s health,” he wrote.
