Known for offering hyper levels of cushioning before such a thing was cool, performance running and hiking shoe company Hoka One One just received a fashion co-sign from Nicolas Formichetti‘s label Nicopanda, which featured the shoe in its grunge-inspired fall 2018 collection.
While Formichetti made use of Hoka’s Tor Ultra Hi trail shoe, the brand’s Tor Summit Waterproof silhouette could be a kissing cousin of Balenciaga‘s cult favorite Triple S.
Founded in France in 2009 as a performance brand by Nicolas Mermoud and Jean-Luc Diard, Hoka was purchased by Ugg parent company Decker Outdoor in 2013. Ranging in price from $160 to $230, Hoka Hoka One could become an unlikely participant in the current chunky sneaker trend.
