Oakland-based Rocky Rivera serves up the truth in her video for “Wake Up,” a single from her album Gangster of Love, which releases on October 29th. Beside the very real lyrics and flow, we love how the video starts off with her taking a morning run and segues into her family life and the struggle/juggle.
Rivera headlined and was well received at a female-centric hip-hop event called Rock the Belles (sponsored by BlueStockings Bookstore) in Brooklyn last month. We’re keeping an eye on this woman!
