As part of the “Re: purpose” exhibit currently being shown at Brooklyn’s MoCADA museum, Harlem-based fine artist Pamela Council created a piece of work called “Flo Jo World Record Nails” that pays tribute to track and field star Florence “Flo Jo” Grffith Joyner by “re-purposing” the long flashy nails for which she was known. The nail art shown in the exhibit was hand painted by Council and inspired by the same designs Joyner wore during the 1988 Olympics. We’re excited to say that a poster (above) commemorating the work is now available for purchase at the museum shop. Council also has an online shop, where it is also available.
