FKA Twigs has released a video for “Video Girls,” a single from her debut album LP1. Directed by Kahlil Joseph, the dark video opens with Twigs observing a convict as he is brought into a room and prepped for lethal injection.
As the poison flows into his veins, Twigs enters the room in costume and dances around and over the man, who is strapped to a gurney and is unable to move.
The video speaks to themes of deep harm done by humans to each other and the limits of recovering from damage done. The video is truthful but not for the faint of heart, though if you are a Twigs fan, you already know and love her for that.
