London-born photographer Nadine Ijewere makes a statement on diversity and notions of what makes humans beautiful with a portrait series titled “Flowers.” Women from an array of backgrounds are posed with a variety of blooms, which are viewed as a universal symbol of beauty.
Commenting on the effort, Ijewere explained, “he flower is a raw and beautiful element and one that cannot be created by man alone. A selection of images from an ongoing portrait series and personal project that explores cultural diversity, the relationship between identifying oneself and the meaning of beauty.”
