Throughout the day we will update with news of Met Gala, including hints on who is coming and what they’re wearing. The gala’s title this year is “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology,” a theme that provides the potential for traditional labels to steal back a bit of the thunder that athletic brands have used to create excitement around their brands and basically own the fashion space.
The hosts of the event are Anna Wintour, chairwoman; Jonathan Ive, chief design officer of Apple; Taylor Swift; and Idris Elba.
Rihanna will not be attending, but Beyoncé will be. Andre Leon Talle says Rih-Rih can’t because she’s on tour, though Bey is, too! Either someone is better at planning or someone thinks playing hard to get isn’t always the worst idea.
