Moschino designer Jeremy Scott is very much go hard or go home in his design mindset, and while he has pivoted away from the in-your-face pop art cartoon themes of prior shows, his take on ’70s Bohemia for women’s resort 2017 (and spring 2017 for men), is just as bold.
Fashion is not in a very happy place these days, and one can sense the fashionatti’s impatience with Scott’s zanily optimistic slant, and yet Moschino’s DNA is very much rooted in poking at and critiquing the party line; besides, lots of youth are happy and they need things to wear to express that, and though a head-to-toe styled Moschino might be a bit much for even the target customer, offerings are full of great items capable of adding life to any party.
Show notes: The Moschino showed kicked off Made Los Angeles’s first major fashion event, which included the option of ticketed entry. Guests included DJ Venus, Erin Jeen, Katy Perry, Miranda Kerr, Cindy Crawford, Jhené Aiko, and Big Sean. Devon Aoki, who first walked for Scott when she was 13, walked the show and closed it. Iconic model Pat Cleveland, in the midst of promoting her book, “Walking With Muses,” also walked, as did Chanel Iman, Jourdan Dunn, Miranda Kerr and Alessandra Ambrosio. For the fellas, son of Crawford, Presley Gerber, walked, as did Anwar Hadid, whose mother is RHOBH star Yolanda Hadid.
