Nike is adding another luxury designer notch to its belt, first collaborating with Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, then Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing, and now Louis Vuitton’s Kim Jones, the lead creative for the men’s division.
Of course everyone is drooling, envisioning a shoe featuring the all-over logo LV print a la Harlem designer Dapper Dan, but that dream needs to be squashed immediately because the collaboration is with Jones not Louis Vuitton. That said, there may be LV call outs, similar to the way Rousteing referenced Balmain via gold accents. A la Louis Vuitton Don’s 2009 collaboration with LV (below), perhaps there will be be some tassel details.
So far all we have is the image Jones posted on his Instagram account (below), though images of the collabo will no doubt soon appear, we are guessing either via an exclusive on Vogue or GQ (given he’s head of men’s and all).
