GHE20GOTH1K founder DJ Venus X was able to realize a long-held dream this week, with the opening Planet X boutique in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Located in a community studio space, the store is meant to serve as an incubator for new talent, but also recalls a period when edgy, out-of-the-box retailers like Patricia Field and Planet Venus made New York City retail an inspiring destination.
Reflective of her own deep love of underground music and individual style, the boutique stocks GHE20GOTH merchandise, rare vintage finds, unique items from Venus’s travels as well as labels like Atheism and Diminish eyewear from Shanghai.
Planet X is located at 448 Jefferson Street, bell No. 29 and is open Monday-Thursday by appointment and Friday from 1:00-8:00pm, and Sunday 1:00-7:00pm.
