Founded in 2005, footwear designer Nicholas Kirkwood from the jump challenged conventional shoe design practices with innovative shapes and use of materials. Never designing from a place of caution, his shoes are known for their ability to turn heads.
One of the highlights of Kirkwood’s fall offerings, aptly named “Collection Perles,” is the use of the demure pearl to create shoes that combine femininity and futuristic edge. Whether pumps, ankle boosts or loafers, the silhouettes within the collection are what could be deemed as “classic,” and yet, Kirkwood through pearl embellishment and other design flourishes manages to add his special sauce, bringing each shoe to another level.
